Generals Stream provides medium/fast flowing fly water and is ideal in low water conditions; it can be fished from both sides of the river.
The Generals is a deep holding pool with some excellent lies and is fished from the north bank in medium to high water and wading from the south bank in lower water conditions.

The Cauld pool is down stream from the Generals and is a slow deep holding pool, which is excellent in medium to high water, it is fished from a boat and also wading from the north bank.
Upper Bridge pool, this is situated just below the cauld and is a good resting place for running Salmon, this pool can provide excellent catches at most heights of water.
Lower Bridge pool is situated below the suspension bridge and is a fast glide with croys on either side and is best fished wading from the south bank.

Island Stream, this pool lies directly below the fishing hut and is a medium flowing deep pool that holds a good head of fish on its many lies; it is fished from the north bank and by wading from the south side of the river.

The Battery, this is a very long pool with fast streaming water at its head and slowing up further down into a deep channel on the south side. It is fished from the south bank and by wading in from the north side of the river

Cowies has a fast flowing neck to the pool falling into a slow deep holding pool, it is ideal in low water from the north and at medium to high water wading from the south bank.
